NOTA – or None Of The Above – was founded as a response to the endless list of generic men’s footwear brands and manufacturers that have come before it.

A large proportion of the industry has long relied on mass production and synthetic production methods, resulting in a footwear market flooded with cheaply constructed, homogenous shoes created without any passion for the traditions of footwear construction, or attention to detail.

NOTA’s focus on subtle quality and painstaking attention to detail is clear.

All of the leathers and materials used have been carefully and deliberately hand picked for their durability and appearance.

Each pair of shoes are hand made by a single craftsmen, using the traditional footwear construction technique, referred to as Blake Rapid, favoured by luxury Italian footwear artisans. This technique is a combination of the Blake and Goodyear methods to minimise weight and provide flexibility and comfort for the wearer; at the same time its waterproofing qualities prevent ground moisture from wicking into the interior of the shoe.

NOTA shoes can be re-soled multiple times by reputable cobblers – by taking great care to maintain the leather upper, through regular polishing and cleaning, NOTA shoes can typically last in excess of 10-15 years.
